The early life of a puppy is extremely important. How the owner deals with this early period will have a huge impact on the characteristic and behavioral development of the puppy. Because the puppy is still young, it learns quickly. This is why we have to use this time to properly teach the puppy of what is allowed and what is not, how it should behave in particular situations etc. In this article I will write about some instructions about the most important things that a young dog has to learn during its first few months that will determine not just the puppy’s life, but its owner’s too.

The first thing a dog owner wants from his or her dog is not to eliminate inside the home. This is the first step in housetraining a pet. It is important for a dog owner to understand how to do it. Many people doesn’t know this skill give up their dogs eventually. This may take some time because we have to wait until the puppy is old enough to establish proper toilet habits. It’s a good idea to confine the puppy to a designated area until we can start this aspect of housebreaking. This does not mean that the dog needs to be isolated. Remember that a puppy is a social being and needs to be around people and other animals. There are great waterproof training pads available that we can put on the floor to minimize the mess a young puppy could cause.

Once the puppy is older, we should examine its daily routine so we can predict when we will have to take the dog outside for a walk. Usually puppies will need to go outside in the morning, shortly after eating and drinking, after waking up from a nap or before sleep. We need to feed the puppy always the same time so we can set up their daily routine.

Do not punish the puppy in case of an accident. Remember, it’s not their fault. On the other hand, always praise the puppy when he uses his designated potty area.

Another important thing a young puppy needs to learn is not to jump on people. To prevent this, the puppy must be caught in the act. Don’t punish the dog, just firmly tell him that it is a bad thing to do.

Socialization is another essential element in the life of a dog. If the dog is not well socialized during this time, it may become too shy or too aggressive later. The dog has to feel happy around people.

When teething, a puppy can be the source of a lot of damage in our house. While this is very annoying, and the owner can get angry easily, it is not the puppy’s fault. We must make sure that when we leave the dog alone, he won’t be able to access any furniture or other objects that can be damaged with chewing. There are cheap toys for this purpose and we have to teach the dog to chew on them instead of furnitures. Don’t forget to reward the puppy when he chooses his toy to chew on.

While house trainig a puppy may sound burdensome and complicated at first, it is vital to grasp some puppy training skills because the time we assign to their training will pay off eventually. A well trained dog can become an integral part of the family and will save a lot of trouble in the future.

Dog is not merely a simple mammal, your dog is your companion, your supporter and your best friend. On the other hand you are his tutor or trainer from which dog learns several things. No one has doubt in this fact that dog is the most faithful pet in the entire animal universe. This is a unique feature that is only seen in dog and for this reason dog is even presented as a hero in several films. Training also plays an important role in dog behavior. So, proper training is essential for every dog by his owner as dog learns several things by proper training. Once your dog become familiar with your actions and commands, he will follow all your instructions. Below are few basic dog training commands that convert a simple dog in a well mannered pet animal that follow all the instructions of his owner properly. It is the duty of dog owner to make his dog at ease with these fundamental Dogs training Commands.

Dogs have a sensitive nature; your dog will get bored if you teach him in long sections. It is the best practice to teach your dog in small sections each no more than 5-7 minutes. If you teach your dog in long section of 20-30 minutes your dog will start neglecting your instructions and all your effort and hard work go wasted. So always teach your dog in short sections. You may repeat the section after some time if you want.

Now talking about the basic commands, Sit is the first basic command in dog training. Generally dogs gain knowledge of this command with no trouble. Once your dog become familiar with this command, your dog will sit at very point when you apply this command, “Leash Training “is one more significant command for every dogs and young puppy. Never attempt to be ruthless with your dog by dragging and hauling him. Allow your dog to leash appropriately and stroll with you. This command is little complicated so give your dog proper time to become skilled at this command. Never try to be panic at your dog during the training process. Another basic command is Heel .Dog all the time feel at ease while walking next to you .This command is generally used if your dog start walking in front of you. Never drag your dog if he’s walking in front of you. Educate this command correctly so to acquire good communication.” Stay” is used to make your dog sit at that spot where he is .This command is extremely significant and acquire little time to get a hold by your dog.

Each above mention commands are extremely obliging for each and every dog breeds. Always try to teach your dog in short sessions instead of long sittings. Never overlook to admire your dog frequently as it will make your dog think at ease with you. Never become disappointed if your dog does not understand something, always keep in mind you’re your dog is not a human so he take some time for understanding. Be courageous, peaceful and reliable with them .Give your dog a nutritious rich meal. Develop a sense of fearless and well mannered. Play games with your dog while training session to make him more relaxed. Feel affection for your dog and in come back he will offer lots of love and admiration to you.

In order to bring your dog to its fullest potential and deepen that bond between canine and human, proper training is vital. All dogs evolved from wolves and still have the instinct of following the Alpha dog. As a result of this, it is very important for the dog to view the owner as the Alpha dog, or else the dog will step up and become Alpha himself. If your dog doesn’t view you as the Alpha dog, it will be very difficult training him to follow your orders. You have to bond with your dog at an early age, and be both firm and rewarding for him to respect you. Follow these points to find out how to teach your dog to stay.

Put your dog on a leash and command it to sit (facing you). The leash should average in length; long enough to allow the dog to move around a little bit, but short enough for you to keep your dog’s attention on you so you can maintain being the Alpha dog.

Keep facing your dog and step backwards as you say the command “stay”. Remember, your dog will most likely not learn it within a few times; repetition and consistency is key. It’s completely up to you which hand signal you want to use as long as you use it every time you say the command “stay.”

After you step back, your pooch will either stay there sitting and watching you or follow you with curiosity. If he stays, let him know that’s what you wanted him to do by giving him a treat and praise. It is so important to reward your dog after he did what you wanted, but remember to be consistent in your training methods. If your bond is tight, your dog will want to please you, so long as he knows that you are pleased with him. Most likely, your dog will go after you, closing the gap between the two of you. If this happens (which it probably will while your pooch is still learning), simply tell him to sit and try it again. Don’t be upset if it takes a few times until he gets it; never hit your dog or yell at him during the training process.

After your dog learns how to stay when you step back, try increasing the distance a bit. Be sure to reward your pooch when he stays put. If he needs more time to get it, just try it again. Again don’t be discouraged; practice makes perfect. One thing you should know when it comes to training your dog is that too much training at once will make your dog less and less focused and therefore can be rather counter-productive. Dogs have very short attention spans and you have to work with that, not against it. If you take breaks regularly, your dog will be much more inclined to train with you because he knows he’ll get treats if he does good and free time afterwards. You can try again with the stay command in a couple hours.

Dogs learn best through consistency, so be patient and keep trying! Good luck with your training!

Successful dog training is the goal of responsible dog owners. It is not only beneficial to everyone in a household or family but also to neighbors, mail carriers, other pets, and children.

The hard part of course is making a decision on what school of thought to use when training a dog. The best thing to do is to just use some amount of trial and error and decide for your self what will work and what will not.

Training Goals

Training your dog successfully may take some time, but in the end it will be worth it. Consider your goals when training your dog, such as the following:

* To build a report of trust and respect between you and your dog

* To obtain the power to control your dog at any time or at any place

* To wean your dog from a very young age in order for it to be properly socialized

* To achieve results while working with the learning instincts of a specific dog breed

There are many other reasons you might want to train your dog. One of them may be simply so your animal does not tear your entire house apart, and another is so he/she does not drive your household crazy!

Types of Lessons

One major area of training involves teaching your dog to obey you. This requires quite a bit of repetition before your dog is able to understand your commands, such as “sit” or “stay” or “come.”

Another primary type of training of course is puppy training. This usually includes such aspects of “breaking in” your beloved pet: Potty training, behavior correction, and boundary setting.

Of course, potty training is often done while your dog is still a puppy. There are a variety of schools of thought regarding this. Sometimes an area in the house is designated for this or the master of the dog takes the animal straight outside.

One of the latest potty training trends is to train the dog to use the bathroom toilet, believe it or not. Sometimes real or turf grass patches are installed in homes, or even a litter box may be used for this purpose.

Behavior correction of a dog usually involves such aspects of training such as preventing the dog from chewing everything in sight or stopping the animal from digging holes. Boundary setting usually involves activities such as teaching your dog to stay in the yard or teaching the dog where he can go in the house or not go in the house. Additional training you may give your dog would serve an entirely different purpose.

Believe it or not, there is ways to make your pet feel more useful. For example, some people teach a dog how to fetch a newspaper or how to spot hunting prey.

Of course, there are more specialized training schools for pets. For instance, companion dogs and guide dogs are available for blind or otherwise impaired or isolated individuals. This would take additional time though.
