Dogs are the most preferred species of the animals as pets by humans. Many people consider them as one of the family member. Many breeds of dogs are adopted by the people as their companions. Proper care has to be taken if one plans to adopt a dog. Just like human beings dogs are prone to many diseases and sometimes the diseases can also affect the owner. So treatment of the disease has to be done in a proper time and in a proper way. Even a small wound should not be neglected. Dog health is affected if proper medicines are not given in timely interval. Dogs are more prone to the microbial infections due to the fur on the body. When dogs are wet, the fur on them acts as the absorbents, i.e. the fur remains wet, easy drying is difficult. This thing induces the growth of micro-organisms on the body and can cause many microbial infections. Another factor which can cause the microbial growth is the habit of dogs to lick the open wound or cut. This can be very dangerous and in many cases deadly. Any sign of unusual behavior of dogs should be immediately taken care.

The diseases can be caused by bacteria, fungi, parasites, or virus very common bacterial skin diseases in dogs is pyroderma, which is a skin disease. It is generally caused when the dog is injured by any means. Some of the symptoms of this disease is itchiness, yellow pustules, loss of hair and bad odor. Dogs are more prone to the microbial infections due to the fur on the body.

Bacterial diseases in dogs are often not contagious from one dog to another dog but it can be very dangerous to the dog who is suffering from such disease. One treatment is to remove the fur from the affected area and apply antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs. Moreover, anti-allergic drugs can be combined with it. Leptospirosis is another disease which is caused by the contaminated water, which the dogs might have drank from the unhygienic places like puddle or gutters. It is a contagious disease and even humans can get affected by this disease. Proper bathing of the dogs should be carried out with the antibiotic shampoos. If the infection is severe then the dogs should be immediately taken to the veterinarian doctor so that the doctor can recommend various medicines and treatment for the diseases. By changing the dietary habits and regular exercises, the health of dogs can be improvised and they can be made more to immunized to various diseases.

Dogs are highly vulnerable animals to skin diseases. Therefore, skin problems have become dog health problems that need attention of dog owners. The main cause of skin diseases of dogs is the parasites. They infest the dog’s skin and cause various skin disorders. The dog will lose hair and will start scratching. When this happens you need to take your pet to the vet.

Only a veterinarian is able to manage the dog health problems related to skin. When a dog is contacted with any skin disorder it will become itchy and start scratching every now and then. You could see that the dog is suffering as it scratches the neck and chest area continuously. If you don’t take your canine to the veterinarian, you will see that blisters appearing in the skin to show you more signs of dog health problems related to skin.

When you take your pet to the veterinarian, regarding dog health problems related to skin, the veterinarian probably will give a couple of injections and will ask you to apply medication on the skin too. Though it is cumbersome to apply these skin treatments, it is a must to apply them exactly the way your vet advises you to do.

In order to avoid these dog health problems becoming serious issues, you need to follow your doctor’s advice and also you may need to clean the dog house and sterilize it with hot water in order to get rid of the parasites that cause these dog health problems. Sometimes, you might need to cut the dog’s hair short if it is an animal that has a thick coat of hair.

Most of the skin problems of dogs could be prevented with good care. You need to bathe your dog regularly in order to keep it clean. After the bath, you need to groom it well. There are also a lot of commercial shampoos that you could use in order to prevent dog health problems related to skin. In case your veterinarian suggests that you need to cut your dog’s hair short, you can do that. When its skin is becomes healthy, it will again get a better coat.

When you need to have a pet at home, you need to decide what type of dog you are going to have. Selecting a pup of the correct breed is important in preventing dog health problems. The reason is that some dogs need more care while there are others that do not need that much of care. If you are a busy person who is not able to devote a lot of your time on your pet, it is not good for you to have a dog that needs a lot of care. Instead have a dog that could manage without much care.

Arthritis is one of the most important dog health problems for which one of the causes is the lack of exercise. If you are living in an apartment, you will not be able to provide enough space for a large dog. Instead, you need to choose a smaller dog in order to avoid dog health problems related to arthritis. When you have a dog, proper grooming is a must to maintain good health. Long haired dogs need a lot of grooming as the hair needs to be brushed and kept in prime condition. If you don’t groom the dog properly, your dog will develop skin diseases and it will start harboring parasites.

In order to avoid dog health problems relating to skin and hair, it is a good idea to own a short haired dog that is easier to groom. However some grooming has to be done. Otherwise your pet is going to face a lot of dog health problems. One interesting feature with short haired dogs is that they shed more hair than the long haired breeds. So, when you have a short haired dog, you must be prepared to do more cleaning.

The age is another factor you need to consider when you think of dog health problems. Pups are more prone to diseases while adult dogs have better resistance against common ailments. Therefore, if you are tight with time to make frequent visits to the veterinarian to help your pup’s dog health problems select an adult dog.

When your dog is not well you are not able to figure out what to do. Unless you are a seasoned dog owner, it is not easy to solve dog health problems. The simple reason is that your canine friend cannot inform you what is wrong with it. Therefore, you need to educate yourself on health issues of dogs. It is good to know how to figure out what is wrong with your pet.

There are certain behavioral patterns of dogs. They like a routine and they like having their food at certain times and dogs do everything somewhat methodically. They want to mix up with their master at certain times. When this routine is changed the dogs could show as if they have dog health problems but these are not problems. In case your playful dog stops playing and tries to hide in a corner in the house, your dog has some dog health problems.

A good way to learn that a dog is undergoing dog health problems is to find if the dog has loss of appetite. When your dog refuses to eat, look for symptoms of fever. If possible, use a thermometer and check the temperature. Feel its breath and see if it is warmer than normal. If these symptoms are there, your dog needs to see its vet.

Diarrhea is one of the most serious dog health problems and you need to take care of it immediately especially if yours is a pup. Diarrhea in pups could be a sign of tick fever. If you are in a region where you find ticks, you need to take extreme care as tick fever is one of the serious dog health problems.

Skin diseases are some of the dog health problems that plague the dogs a lot. They scratch and shake their heads vigorously when they are affected with skin problems. These happen due to lack of grooming most often. If that is the case groom your dog often after treatment in order to prevent recurrence. If you feed your dog, groom it properly and give it the due care, your dog will never fall ill.
