Good dog owners are always bothered with this tricky question – what is the best dog food? Choosing the right one is exhausting task, because shelves of supermarkets and pet stores are full of pet food. But the truth is that canned, dry or semi-moist products aren’t the best dog food. Don’t fall for the commercials; such food will cause health problems to your friend, sooner or later. But what is considered the best dog food then?

It is quite simple – fresh food that you buy for yourself (fresh meat, fish, vegetables, eggs, cotton cheese and etc) IS the best choice for your dog as well. Think about it – dogs never eaten any canned or processed food till 1930s, and they were domesticated almost for 150 centuries already. And the fact is – dogs lived for 16-18 years, because they had a great diet.

But why today’s processed kibble and canned products can’t be considered best dog food? Ingredients are absolutely horrible. Did you know that meat used for “best dog food” can’t pass USDA inspection? Big companies use meat from livestock that is diseased, disabled or already dead when it arrives at the slaughterhouse. Did you know that? And we are not mentioning growth hormones and antibiotics which were injected in the poor livestock to make it grow faster…

Other bad ingredient is the grain. Grains and cereals should not be eaten by dogs, simply because their digestive tracts are not designed for this. Dogs have short and straight digestive tracts that are designed to digest meat. So that’s why even naturally grown corn, soy and wheat aren’t the best dog food, by any means. On top of that, grains used for dog food are unfit for human consumption.

Also pet food companies spray greasy fat on all their products. Without such spray their production would not be considered food by your dog. It’s the smell that encourages him.

And another problem with commercial dog food is preservatives. All three preservatives that are used for “best dog food” are considered toxic, and marked as poison by Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). And all 3 are banned in Europe, but not in the US. How about that? Do you still want to feed your beloved dog with poison, on daily basis?!

So we came to the conclusion – you shouldn’t feed your dog with processed food. But what foods are healthy? Here is a short list of best dog food – chicken, beef, turkey, venison, fish, eggs, cottage cheese, vegetables (all kind of, try different to see what your dog likes most), liver, heart, kidney, oatmeal (sometimes) and a lot of other products. Food must be natural, and other than there is not much limitations. You can use a bit of whole grains too, for mineralsvitamins, but you need to pulverize and cook them before serving, for optimal digestion. Also don’t forget about special vitamin/mineral supplements, they are quite important.

Now you know the basics, and understand why it is important to feed your dog only with natural products. But if you want to take this further and make best dog food yourself, at home, go and research this topic in depth.

What if you just can’t keep your dog healthy enough?

I know how hard it can be to drive to veterinarians frequently.
But if you want to really make your dog well and healthy, you’ll need to learn a single method that works amazingly well.

People who love their canine companions only want the best for them so that their buddies can live long, happy, healthy and productive lives. One of the best ways to achieve these results is by feeding an organic dog food. Let’s take a look at some serious reasons to consider switching from chemically induced feeds to this all natural source of nutrition.

Just like their human companions, canines can develop allergies to different types of food and other items. The chemicals used in most commercial feeds have shown evidence of being the reason canines get skin rashes. Once they are put on an all natural feed, these skin conditions clear up, and their hair and coats are much softer, shinier and healthier.

Animals can be affected by the contents of what they eat, just like humans, and when fed something that has to preservatives, or other harmful chemicals, the canine has a better attention span. Their eyes clear up and seem brighter, and foul smelling discharge from their ears can go away. These conditions are typically connected with an allergy to something in the product they are being fed.

Most of the chemicals used in non-organic products are not biodegradable, and it requires more of the product to meet the nutritional values on the packaging. With organic food the result is often much smaller stools because all of the nutrients are being used by the body for good health. Naturally grown feeds also result in reducing, or eliminating, canine bad breath.

Most puppies are naturally playful, but as they get older the type of food they are being fed can cause them to have less energy. Naturally grown ingredients help in hydrating the body, which keeps the nutrition flushed through their system, and the result is a marked increase of energy, and vitality. Their innate senses of smell, and hearing also improve, along with greater body tone which makes them more interested in playing.

Endurance is important, and with some breeds, it is vital to the success of their career. Several breeds are used in the such fields as rescue, and to provide assistance to elderly or physically challenged individuals. These dogs are in special need of a diet that helps build strong hearts and muscle strength, as well as improve and maintain their immune systems. Canines are subject to diseases and infections, too.

Dogs which are frequently being taken to the vet may be victims of problems in digesting typical commercial ingredients. When switched to all natural choices there is a marked decrease in doctor visits, and much less money spent on medical bills for the duration of the life of the dog. It all depends on what the dog eats as to how healthy they are, and will continue to be.

In their natural environment, canines are not designed to lay around listlessly sleeping away their lives. They are intended to be active and in pursuit of their own meals. Once domesticated, they are dependent on their owners to provide their nutritional needs. Organic dog food can help ensure that the doggie gets all of the nutrients it needs.

“Food supplement also known as dietary supplement is an endeavor to supplement the numerous nutrients that are missing in our daily diet. Some countries define them as foods while in more liberal ones they are defined as drugs aimed at providing such missing food values.

Now that our world has “gone to dogs” the dog food supplement industry is growing by leaps and bounds. What is dog food supplement: it is simply some additional edible stuff given in addition to the regular diet to the canine member of the family. This ensures good pet health.

Proper research needs to be done before buying dog food supplement. Factors such as dog’s age, breed, weight and lot of other things determine what types of dog health food supplements can be used and how frequently they need to be given. Professional consultation is always recommended. Additional amount of dog food supplement like glucosamine sulphate and chondroitin sulphate benefits the canine by strengthening joints and so on. Additionally, dog food supplements such as L-carnitine may help a dog stay lean which will in turn generate less stress on the bones and joints and helps it stay active.

It might sound bewildering but medical surveys have proven that as dogs grow old, they suffer from chronic diseases like allergies arthritis, digestive problems, skin or coat ailments, weight concerns, calcium deficiencies, periodontal care and so on. Dog food supplements might be an answer to all these. For example, dogs suffering from arthritis benefit from additional amounts of glucosamine sulphate and chondroitin sulphate provided along with normal diet.

Dog food supplements come in various forms- tasteless powders, pills with a sweet coating or syrups. All dog food supplements are invariably sweet; otherwise it would be utterly impossible to administer the unpleasant tasting nutrients. They also come in chicken and liver flavors. With recent concerns about the safety of canned and pouch dog foods, people are turning to homemade foods. Innovations about homemade dog food supplement recipes keep coming up every now and then. However it is important to check with a veterinarian before changing pet food. These recipes need to be checked; however we must remember that they may not totally replace dog foods.”

Dogs are very popular family pets and thousands of families have them. These beloved pets are wonderful companions for family members. Although they are animals, many families treat them like family.

Family pets or dogs are well cared for by loving family members. Dogs often get top notch treatment by veterinarians to stay healthy. This includes preventive medical care to prolong the life of a dog.

Pet owners who love their pets often go above and beyond for health. Owners do almost anything to keep their pet longer and healthier. This includes buying dog food supplements and special food products.

Dog food supplements are products that help maintain a dog’s health. There are various dog food supplements available on the market. These products are created to specialize on a certain health area.

This is very similar to the types of supplements people take. People consume supplements for memory, circulation, and joints. Dog food supplements are created for many of these same effects.

Dog food supplements for increased muscle and stamina can be found. These supplements help increase the muscles in a dog’s body. This allows for dogs to go for longer walks or jogs with their owners.

This is quite popular as many pet owners love to go jogging with dogs. These pet owners may also invest in dog joint supplements for pets. Dog joint supplements are very important for active or older dogs.

Dog joint supplements help maintain the health of dog joints. These supplements allow a dog to run longer without any pain. Dog joint supplements ensure joints can move freely and easily.

Glucosamine is the primary ingredient in dog joint supplements. This ingredient is also used in human joint supplement products. Dog joint supplements come in pill, liquid, and capsule form.

Other products for a dog’s health are available for purchase. These are dog vitamin supplements which offer several benefits. Dog vitamin supplements are great products to start as a small puppy.

Dog vitamin supplements contain the same vitamins human products do. These vitamins are given to help with certain dog health elements. These elements include increasing appetite and reducing hair shedding.

Puppies greatly benefit from dog vitamin supplements as they grow. Puppies are developing their teeth, bones, muscles, and more. Proper nutrition is vital in development so the puppy grows.

Dog vitamin supplements encourage proper bone development for dogs. Many websites on the Internet specialize in dog vitamin supplements. These sites offer reasonably priced products with natural ingredients.
